2008 Congratulations to David Glynn who was a recent member of the Kilkenny Minor All Ireland winning Panel. The first ever Leinster women’s under 18 Rugby development squad programme was run in July and August in Terenure Rugby Club. The following students were chosen from Kilkenny College: Melissa Kearney, Wendy O’Morchoe, Jill Condell, Julie Watchorn, Eleanor Power, Laura Ridgeway, Emma Fryday, Stephanie Hutchinson, Roisin Cahill. Congratulations alos to Cillian Ryan who represented Ireland in the under 16 boys Surfing championship in England in August and finished in 3rd place. ....................... 2007/08 **CLICK HERE TO VIEW KILKENNY COLLEGE SPORTSWEAR BY O'B ** END OF TERM SPORTS NEWS AND ANNUAL SPORTS AWARDS At the Annual Sports’ Awards Asembly the major senior prizes went to the following; The Godfery Day: Craig Ronaldson (voted by the boys); the Quater-centenary (awarded by the Staff): Geoff Dunne, the Ruddock Cup: Charlotte Younghusband (voted by the Staff); the O’Connor Cup: Cheryl Stanley (voted by the girls); the senior Vicitor Ludorum Cup: Katie Irwin; the Stedmond (100m dash) and Pococke Cup: Jonathan Holmes. The Corrigan Cup for rugby was won by Ray Wilson and Andrew Yates and allied to this two new awards were presented one for boys’ hockey and one for girls’ hockey. The Sharman Cup was awarded and presented by Herbie Sharman to senior boys captain Danny Mulligan and the Sixsmith Cup was awarded and presented by former international Daphne Sixsmith to under 18 hockey international Kylie Deverell. Hockey team of the year was the Senior seconds girls.
Past-pupil, Ian Condell, has been selected for the Irish students’ rugby league squad to travel to Australia for the Students’ World Cup

New Departure 2008 As the summer approaches and thoughts in Kilkenny turn to the Hurling Championship, Kilkenny College will play Camogie for the first time. As part of the summer term Extra-Curricular Programme, some fifty girls have started to play Camogie. This is a new departure for Kilkenny College whose traditional sports are Rugby and Hockey in the winter terms.
