The A team was narrowly defeated by Loreto in the final, the team here were Kym Thompson, Sharon Eager, Lauren Thomas and Emily Rogers.

In the play-offs the KCK C team came in a great 3rd place after beating the B team on the way.

C team: Sophie Reid, Lauren Minion, Courtney Forbes, Jessica Burton Restrick.

B team Emer Crowley, Jessica Moten, Karen Larke, Katie Raeburn.

All the Juniors and seniors swung into action to compete against the Kilkenny schools in the annual tournament held in Kilkenny tennis club.

Defending Senior champions Presentation School proved too strong again, with the main battle for second place between Loreto and Kilkenny College. The college just kept ahead to come in as runners up, Tatiana Nuzum, Lauren Baker, Julie Baker and Katie Rogers.

The Senior B competition was very close with the team of  Hannah Douglas, Alison Holmes, Tanya McGahey and Kiara Lalor. Just being squeezed into 3rd spot.

In the Junior event the “As” while under strength, gallantly fought it out but Loreto conquered the top 2 spots. Katie O’Connor, Amanda Haslem, Holly Baker and Rebecca Carter being the A squad.

The B team of Emma Duncan, Jean O’Driscoll Ciara Tompkins and  Meghan Hahessy Madigan won their division with some close matches they  played consistent tennis to capture the trophy.

1st year tournament on Tuesday 18th May.

Play begins with the new term with the following arrangements:

Mondays;   1st yr boys

Tuesdays; 2nd & 3rd girls

Wednesdays;    open play

Thursdays; 1st yr girls

NO PLAY ON FRIDAYS

Fridays from 30th April

Will be used  ONLY for tournament matches
