Equestrian
Founded in 1993, the Equestrian Club has gone from strength to strength. Over 50 pupils are involved in showjumping, eventing and hunter trials. Success has come at all levels in all disciplines. In 2005 teams from Kilkenny College won both the senior and junior competitions at the All- England Showjumping Championships at Hickstead in England.  Former members have pursued their interests in the equine world, including Classic winning jockey, Jamie Spencer. Meetings, excursions, table-quiz evenings help fill a busy calendar. Pupils may go trekking or take showjumping and dressage lessons by arrangement. Every support and encouragement is given to our riders whatever their ability.

Swimming
Every first year pupil is taught swimming with organised lessons every week.  The more competent swimmers can learn lifesaving and seniors can train to become Assistant Swimming Teachers.

Golf
Some pupils take part in the Past Pupils’ Annual Golf Outing and other competitions.

Fishing
There is a developing Fishing Club which takes groups to local rivers and lakes to learn the art of fly-fishing.

Other sports
Include tennis, soccer and cross-country running.  The large Sports Hall is the venue for various indoor activities including physical education classes, indoor hockey, badminton, indoor soccer, basketball, weight training and table tennis.
